Plays to Two Nights of SRO Crowds
in Historic and Culturally Rich City of Guangzhou

On the heels of President Clinton's historic journey to China, another American import - by way of Japan - is also making his presence felt in China.
Virtually single handedly, Kitaro defined the New Age genre that has exploded in America and around the world, as well. So popular is the internationally renown artist that he was invited by the people of China to perform in that country's largest and most prosperous city in the south, Guangzhou.
The response to his visit has proven to be overwhelming. So much so that Kitaro added an additional date to his planned visit, selling out two shows on two consecutive nights at Tianhe Stadium in the famous, historic and 2,000 year old cultural city.
Also know to locals as the City of the Flowers and located within the Tropic of Cancer, Guangzhou boasts monuments of the city's democratic and revolutionary past. Kitaro noted, "We chose to perform in Guangzhou because of its beauty and rich history."
Kitaro's current tour includes music from his new release, Gaia. This is a tribute to the Onbashira or "Festival of the Pillars," one of the most sacred rituals to take place in the land of the rising sun. So taken was Kitaro with the spectacle of believers riding tree trunks down a very steep mountain in Nagano Japan that he used the festival as musical inspiration.
Distinguished by warmth and emotion, "Feeling," according to Kitaro, is the most important element of his music.
In the artist's first studio release in four years, Kitaro embarks on a journey deeply rooted in centuries old tradition and respect for our planet as the title, Gaia, translates to Earth or Mother Earth and emphasizes the respect the planet demands.
